Direct Thermal Wristband Material for Hospital Patient ID Printing
Getting a patient ID wristband right comes down to two things: the material has to be comfortable enough to wear for the length of a stay, and the printed barcode has to keep scanning the whole time. Z-Band UltraSoft is a direct thermal wristband built around a flexible polypropylene facestock with a soft-feel coating, designed specifically to reduce scratching on delicate skin compared with rigid alternatives.
On the printing side, the material is engineered for Zebra's wristband printer line — the HC100 and ZD510-HC — as well as desktop, ZT200 Series, and ZT400 printers, so it fits directly into an existing hospital thermal printing workflow without new hardware.
Where This Product Fits in the Patient ID Workflow
A Z-Band UltraSoft wristband is printed at admission with a patient's barcode and applied immediately, then scanned repeatedly throughout the stay for medication administration, specimen collection, and care verification. Because the material and antimicrobial coating are built to resist degradation from sanitizer and cleaner exposure, the same band keeps scanning reliably rather than requiring a reprint mid-stay.
