High-Heat Polyimide Labels for Wave Solder Lines
Wave soldering exposes the underside of a board to molten solder, and a weak label will discolor, curl, or fall off. Zebra Z-Supreme 3000T labels are made for that step, pairing a 2.2 mil white matte polyimide face with a high-temp permanent acrylic adhesive.
Printed with Zebra 5100 resin ribbon, the 3000T withstands 572°F for up to 5 minutes and stays rated from -40°F to 356°F in service. It also resists gasoline, oil, grease, alcohol, and bleach.
Beyond wave solder PCB lines, the 3000T fits automotive part labels, product ID on components that pass through short high-heat steps, and UL-recognized labels for electrical equipment.
Where the Z-Supreme 3000T Fits on a Wave Solder Line
Labels are printed on a mid-range or high-performance thermal transfer printer with 5100 ribbon, then applied to the top or bottom of the board at 50°F or warmer. After dwell, the board moves through wave solder with the label in place, ready for scanning at test and inspection.
Keep the 3000T away from IR reflow ovens and from acetone, MEK, TCE, or xylene cleaning, which Zebra lists as not recommended.
